Celestial Marriage
Also known as Eternal Marriage.
A doctrine unique to Mormonism (particularly The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) that refers to a sacred marriage ceremony which takes place in temple that only authorised individuals can enter. In the ceremony, a man and a woman make covenants to God and to each other and are considered to be sealed together as husband and wife for eternity.
A man may be sealed to more than one woman; if his wife dies, he may enter another celestial marriage, and be sealed to both his living wife and deceased wife (or wives).
