Parallel Cousin

The child of a person's father's brother (paternal uncle's child) or their mother's sister (maternal aunt's child). The gender of the children (i.e. the cousins) is not relevant in making this distinction. With patrilineal or matrilineal descent, parallel cousins are members of the same lineage.
