Prenuptial Agreement
A voluntary marriage contract that sets out how a couple will handle the certain aspects of their marriage. The content of a prenup can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for the division of property should the couple divorce and any rights to spousal support during or after the dissolution of marriage.
It is thought that 86% of people marrying in the US enter some sort of prenuptial agreement (79% in Canada). However, in the UK, a prenup is not enforceable.
