Romantic Love

An intimate and often sexual relationship between two people, in which the parties experience an emotional high, exhilaration, passion and elation when they are together.

Many who are in the midst of romantic love want to be with their lover all the time and can overlook conflict, faults and even abuse. A sense of disillusionment sets in when the romantic love phase of their relationship begins to wear off; partners become more critical of one another, have less patience with each other, become easily irritated at things that didn't bother them earlier in their relationship, and are indifferent to the feelings and wants of each other.
