Sealed Marriage
Latter-day Saints (Mormons) believe that civil marriages are dissolved at death, but that a marriage performed in one of their temples seals their relationship "for time and all eternity" (see Celestial Marriage). This ceremony also seals the family bond so that it lasts beyond death, so that all children who are "born in the covenant" will be united with their parents forever.
Although a divorce legally dissolves a civilly-recognized marriage, the Church still recognizes a sealed couple as being sealed.
